Design Brief

The design brief was to create an Art & Design magazine. I visited Elizabeth Farm in Sydney and created a fictional interior design magazine that focuses on period homes. The main challenge for this magazine was image-making (photography) that fit the mood I was trying to evoke. I was heavily inspired by Gaslight graphic design of the Victorian Era, but modernised to fit today’s aesthetic.

The Gaslight style is heavily based on rich Typography, which has inspired the title page. Throughout the rest of the spreads, I used photography in a way that the Victorians might have illustrated in their own publications.
